There are seven fields of science to research:
- Logistics Construction Science - For Improving Construction, Ship Building and repairing, and Resource Development
- Planetary Defense Science - For Space Station Defense improvements and enhancements
- Ballistics Science - For Ballistics Weapons research
- Directional Science - For Directional Weapons research
- Missile Science - For Missile Weapons research
- Ship-based Science - For Ship-Based Weapons research
- Ship Defense Science - For Shields and Structural enhancements on Ships
